Promic is a Catholic publishing house that came into existence in 1987. Located in Warsaw, Poland, it was formerly named Wydawnictwo Księży Marianów (Marian Press). Promic is owned by the Congregation of Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception of the Most Blessed Virgin Mary (also known as Marians of the Immaculate Conception, MIC), Poland's first male clerical religious congregation, founded in 1670 by St. Stanislaus Papczyński (1631-1701). Among the primary purposes of his newly-founded community, Fr. Papczyński included: nurturing, displaying, and promoting special veneration and filial devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary in the mystery of her Immaculate Conception; offering prayer support and spiritual help to the souls that suffer in Purgatory; seeking salvation of others and "enlightening laypeople about Christian teachings," which nowadays means conducting manifold pastoral activity. After more than 350 years since their foundation, the Marian Fathers are still sharing and striving for these lofty ideals worldwide (see https://www.marian.org/).
For over 35 years now, Promic has been succesfully publishing and distributing a wide variety of religious content, including classical writings on faith and devotion, prayer and daily meditation books, resources for spiritual reflection and self-awareness, Biblical and theological essays, various editions of the bestselling Diary: Divine Mercy in My Soul by St. Maria Faustina Kowalska, Christian fiction, children's literature, the lives of the saints, family and marriage guides, Bible card games, brochures, pamphlets, and much more, including some translated materials from a number of languages into Polish.
In addition, Promic publishes two monthly magazines, both in print and digital editions: Oremus, the most popular Polish periodical on liturgy, with daily Mass readings, meditations, and articles, as well as prayer resources and a Q&A section; and Słowo wśród nas, the Polish edition of the renowned US magazine The Word Among Us, for all those who desire to deepen their faith and receive the power of God's grace and love more fully in their lives (see https://wau.org/). The long-standing mission of Promic is to help each person grow spiritually and intellectually, and to edify and encourage people in Poland, as well as in other countries in which we distribute our titles, like Ukraine and Slovakia.
